What a perspective to remember!

Some of you may have read this earlier, like me but this is probably one of those that
need to be read again and again till they become our nature

What a perspective to remember!

This really is profound; please keep this in mind the next time you feel 'stressed' . . .

A group of alumni, highly established in their Carers, got together to visit their old University Professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: 'If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups…..And then you began eyeing each other’s cups.

Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have, does not define, nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee provided to us. Brew the coffee, not the cups….. Enjoy your coffee.

'The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Live simply.

Speak kindly.

Leave the rest alone.

WHO CAN UNDERSTAND LOVE?

nce upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived. Happiness, sadness, knowledge and all the others, including love.

One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So, all the feelings prepared their boats to leave to a safer location.

Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve that little paradise until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under, love decided it was time to leave.

love

She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, can I come with you on your boat?"

Richness answered, "I'm sorry, there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please."

"I can't help you,” Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."

Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry but I just need to be alone now."

Then, Love saw Happiness. Seeing a ray of hope, Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling out to him.

Love began to cry. Then she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.

“Time is God”. If there is anybody who understands our Love always in the right manner, it is God. But we have to be patient, for God always chooses the best time to respond to our Love, as God is nothing but Love.

Love then found Knowledge and asked him who the elder was. "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?" asked Love. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Bhagavan Baba says, “Time is God”. If there is anybody who understands our Love always in the right manner, it is God. But we have to be patient, for God always chooses the best time to respond to our Love, as God is nothing but Love.

January 10, 2010 – Swami Watches the Sportsmeet Rehearsal

The Annual Sports and Cultural meet is often considered as the Prashanti Nilayam Olympics! The five rings are constituted here by the three campuses of the University and the Primary School and the Higher Secondary School. Every year, Swami takes a lot of pride in the march past parade which takes the place of honour, being the first item and the longest one too, on the agenda. And again, every year, Swami scrutinises the march past at least once before the D-Day and blesses all the students with His comments and compliments. In 2010 too, Swami visited the grounds on two occasions and had seen some of the items from all the various campuses. However, Swami had not yet seen the march past and so it was no surprise when He sat in the Porte and headed straight to the grounds on January 10

.By 4:40 p.m., Swami had entered the grounds and He was accorded a welcome by the brass bands from the boys' and girls' side. Majestic horses walked in front of His car. Reaching the Vedika, Swami went up the stage from the lift. Once seated there, the command to begin the march past was given and the band struck up a lively beat. The tiny tots from the Primary school in their blue uniforms were followed by the girls from the school and Anantapur campus. The commentary was also rehearsed. The school boys and finally the University boys from both the campuses too marched in front of their Swami. Soon, the ground was a splash of colour as all the students stood in neatly ordered rows and columns.
